Life Cycle of a Pumpkin

It began as a seed scattered by Little Guy.

Then, it grew bigger than a basketball.

Yesterday that very pumpkin became...

Compost..to grow more pumpkins next year

Yummy baked seeds
A Jack-O-lantern.

Happy Halloween!!

i <3 pumpkins and squashes. especially their durability to last forever... a squash later in winter will be a good thing.

Thanks Erikka!

My acorn squashes have been sitting in the kitchen for a few weeks. I have no idea what to do with them.

Nice to know I have a little time before I have to decide how to cook my squash.

E~ I was thinking of you on November 1st. Did you make it without heat?

hi gruppie. i sure did. we didn't turn the heat on until...this past sunday and we just put it up to 62. i feel like that still doesn't count. :) we've been pretty blessed with warmer weather of late though, so we'll see how long this lasts.

oh! about the squashes - store them in a cool dry place (like potatoes) and they should last a long time.
